Troubleshooting
The most common problems and how to fix them. Start by reading your server console.
Red lines in the console on start
| Message | Fix |
|---|---|
no framework found | Start qbx_core, qb-core or es_extended before the script. |
characters.useExternalCharacters = false | Set it to true in qbx_core/config/client.lua. |
another multicharacter resource is running | Stop it. On ESX, use the empty esx_multicharacter from extras. |
qbx_spawn is running too or qb-spawn is running too | Stop or remove it, the spawn menu is built in. |
illenium-appearance is not running | Install and start it, or set up your own menu. |
Config.locations is empty | Add at least one spot to config_spawns.lua. |
spawn id ... is used twice | Give every spot its own id. |
The server says you lack the entitlement
The script is tied to the Cfx account that bought it. Make sure your server's license key belongs to the same account that has the script under Granted Assets in the Cfx Portal.
Two menus open on top of each other
Your old multicharacter or spawn resource is still running. Go through step 2 in the installation guide.
ESX only keeps one character
ESX only keeps several characters per player while a resource named esx_multicharacter runs. Use the empty one in extras/esx_multicharacter and ensure it before es_extended.
New characters skip the appearance menu
The appearance resource isn't running. Start it before the script, or check Config.appearance.resource if you use another menu.
Characters wear default clothes in the lineup
With another appearance menu than illenium-appearance, you need to fill in getLooks and apply. See Appearance menu.
The sky flickers in character selection
Two resources are setting the time. Leave Config.scene.time at false when vMenu or another resource syncs it.
A player is stuck on a black screen
Have the player type /spawnfix, which gets the picture and control back. The cause is printed in your server console.
